On 13-14 December 2011 the President of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Serzh Sargsyan, paid an official visit to Italy, accompanied also by the RA Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Eduard Nalbandian, of Economy, Mr. Tigran Davtyan, of Culture, Mrs. Hasmik Poghosyan, and the the Mayor of Yerevan, Mr. Taron Margaryan. The Armenian delegation was received at the highest level by the Italian Institutions, with meetings at the “Palazzo del Quirinale” between the two Heads of State and at the “Farnesina” between the respective Ministers of Foreign Affairs. Moreover, in Venice the Armenian President officially opened the exhibition: “Armenia. Impronte di una civilta’”, under the High Patronage of both the Presidents of the Republic of Italy and Armenia.
