Francesco Fransoni

Born in Rome, May 6th 1955,  “Laurea” Master Degree in Economy and commerce from the State University of Rome "La Sapienza" with honours.
  •  In 1981 he joins the diplomatic service at the General Directorate for Political Affairs, Soviet Union and Eastern Europe Desk. 
  • Second Secretary at the Italian Embassy in New Delhi in 1983, Political Affairs and Press. 
  • Promoted  First Secretary in 1987, he is assigned at the Italian Embassy in Washington D.C., Commercial Office and relations with International Financial Institutions. 
  •  Counselor in 1991 in Rome at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Fransoni is at the General Directorate for Economic Affairs, Deputy Director of Eastern Europe and former Soviet Union Desk. 
  • In 1994 he is with the Italian Embassy in Warsaw, Poland, Head of the Commercial Office and in 1998 at NATO Italian Permanent Representation in Brussels (Political Committee, Mediterranean Dialogue, relations with Russian Federation and Ukraine). 
  • 2001 Counselor of First Class. 
  • 2002 Rome, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Head of  Southern Asia Office (India , Pakistan), General Directorate of the Asian Countries, Oceania, Pacific and Antarctica.
  • Director of the Visa Centre – Schengen – General Directorate of Expatriates and Migrations.
  • 2nd January 2008 Minister Plenipotentiary
  • 1st December 2008  Ambassador of the Republic of Italy in Amman.
Amb. Fransoni is married with Ivana, and has one daughter and one son.

Reserve Officer of “Guardia di Finanza”, Amb. Fransoni published three books dedicated to the German economist Werner Sombart, the Italian national identity and the Privatization in Centre Eastern Europe after 1991.
